The Machine that Wouldn't Die is a narrative music/performance project, telling the story of an immortal mechanical mind as it gets reincarnated as various malevolent technologies, from the Enola Gay to a Missile Command Atari 2600 game cartridge.

The first iteration of the Machine that Wouldn't Die took the form of a costumed punk band, featuring musicians Andrew Lynn, Silvia Ruzanka, Ryan Jenkins, Kim Tateo, and Nathan Meltz.

The second generation in-progress continues the story with Meltz and Tateo in a quieter, lyrical iteration.

The Machine is available to perform at artist spaces, galleries, museums, and the occasional dingy rock club. Contact Nathan at nathanmeltz (at) for inquiries.
